Well, that explains it!

A few days ago, I was concerned about the behavior of a raccoon https://365project.org/eudora/365/2019-05-13 My neighbor and I were afraid she might have distemper, which causes some animals to act like zombies. Today mama brought two babies onto the deck, but one had scampered away by the time I got my camera. Three raccoons is probably not good news, as I know they are pests, but the babies sure are cute.
Well she came back to show off her babies. so cute. My husband saw a mom climb up a tree in our garden once and it was teaching two young ones to climb the tree. He called me to come and bring my camera, darn I took a few pictures and when I uploaded them, I found not sim card in the camera. I never lived it down.

Oh my! The baby looks pretty big! I have a friend who feeds the raccoons in the woods behind her house. Cheap dog food. I saw her buying it in the grocery one day and knew they didn't have a dog...

@bruni LOL. Back when I took Super 8 movies of my kids, I once filmed my daughter's birthday with no film in the camera! I guess it happens to us all.

@margonaut Funny. I feed the feral cats cheap cat food, and the raccoons like it, too.

Baby anythingโ€™s are pretty cute. And on the filming with no film conversation โ€” my uncle took photos of my whole wedding with no film in the camera. He had behaved badly the night before and was trying to make it up to me. That didnโ€™t work out too well for either one of us!

They are cute- but they will figure out how to get into anything! You may want to relocate them to some woods somewhere. It's good to know though that there was nothing wrong with her. No one likes to see an animal sick or suffering.

@wiesnerbeth Haha! I hope he was not the only photographer!

@olivetreeann I agree. We trapped and relocated one before, but now we are feeding feral cats so trapping becomes even more of a challenge. I am glad she does not seem to have rabies or distemper.

They look harmless but then we don't have them here.

On the one hand, such a relief that the raccoon was okay, but on the other, three is worse than one!
