The Y is open again!

The Baton Rouge area YMCA's have reopened with many restrictions. The family pools are not open, but the lap pools are. We have to a reserve a time and a lane, only one person per lane, and we have to be out after 45 minutes. Between a bum knee, surgery and quarantine, I had not been able to swim for months. I can't describe how great it felt to be back in the water!
A beautifully refreshing image and I am so happy for you to be able to indulge again

This looks so beautiful — I feel like I can smell the chlorine!

That's great that you're able to swim again! I'm looking forward to when I can resume my fitness training. I can totally feel a difference in my mobility not having been there for 3 mos. now.

@olivetreeann I was wondering how your knee was doing. My arthritis was definitely better when I got out more. Didn't you mention you might have the other knee replaced?

@eudora Over the last two days with high humidity it's been a little rough! My right knee is good. It has swollen a LITTLE bit with this weather but nothing like it used to. The left knee is a mess- bone on bone and very uncooperative! I'm planning on having the surgery for that one in September. I could have done it earlier but I want to be mobile and able to drive when my grandkids come to visit this summer. We're also hoping to go down to KY for my son's opening game in August and since it's a 12 hour trip I need to be able to sit for longer segments of driving. I just hope I can last that long! Since I had a cortisone shot I technically can't have the surgery for 3 months now. It must feel so good to be back in the water exercising!

@olivetreeann Glad your right knee is better and hope the left one stays manageable until your surgery. Driving that far is a challenge! My son and his family drove here recently, straight through from New Mexico in one long day, over 1,000 miles. They usually fly but did not consider that wise this year. We had planned to fly there in July, but think we'll just stay home this summer. My husband no longer drives so I'd have to drive the whole way. No way could I do that in one day!

@eudora It is a lot of driving. I prefer to go half way and spend the night and finish the trip off on the second day but we don't always have the resources to do that and my husband likes to get down there in one day. Surprisingly I'm usually the one who does all the driving. It passes the time more quickly for me!
