Still standing

Although Hurricane Ida damaged many nearby buildings, my favorite derelict house still stands.

Today was a film day, but fortunately I took some backup pictures with my phone. When I went to remove the film from the camera, it had detached from the spool and is probably ruined. In 40 years of shooting with film, this is the first time this has happened. I guess it is sort of like having the memory card get corrupted?
How frustrating to have that happen! I am glad you got this one with your iphone! I like all the interesting textures and the details you have captured

What an intriguing structure. Sorry about your camera fail. I guess this is an example of “You win some. You lose some.’

Oh dear, so sorry about the film! This house has so much character. Oh if those walls could talk.

It has seen better days. Hope someone comes in to rescue it and bring it back to its former glory. Sad about your film. I hope you will be able to save most of your photos.

Oh my- poor little house! It was probably so cute in its prime. Tough spot with the film too. I only had that happen twice- thankfully. When it did, I think the pictures in the middle were still salvageable but not that great. Good shot.

Such a sad little house. Looks like the porch had some fancy trim at one time.

I’ve been reading a picture book to my fourth and fifth graders this week called “Home in the Woods” about a family that lived in a tar paper house that looked very similar to this little house.
