Common Elderberry

It IS common, growing all along the lakes and roads in Baton Rouge. I didn't know what it was, though, so I looked it up on a plant app.

BTW, I have discovered an awesome free app from the Cornell University Ornithology Lab for identifying birds: https://merlin.allaboutbirds.org/ While taking this picture, I could hear birds but didn't see them. I recorded the songs and it identified blue jays and red-winged blackbirds. I have bluejays in my yard, but not red-winged blackbirds, so I looked for them and eventually saw two. Didn't get a decent photo, though.

I have only ever gotten one good bird photo and I think it was because it was a baby too scared to move! I’ll have to look up that app — I can’t identify bird sounds at all.
