Sittin' in the mornin' sun

I thought of Otis Redding's song "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" while I was taking photos of the Mississippi River, but the lyrics did not really fit. Unlike the lonely singer, I felt a wonderful sense of peace as I sat on an old (refurbished) dock watching the river traffic. For Flashofred2019 this week Ann @Olivetreeann suggested shooting the same subject all week. My goal is seven shots of the river. Like lots of B&W shots, this looks better on black if you have time.
I'm curious about the flash of red thing. Where do you find these challenges? And why is "flash of red" black and white instead of red?

@margonaut You can find challenges under the Discuss tab, Themes and Competitions tab. I think the first week, where Ann discusses it, is here: https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/32715/flash-of-red-february-2019-is-ready-to-go. She has done this for several years, a month of black and white photos with the one for Feb 14 having a flash of red. If you don't follow Ann, she is an inspiration--great at photography and processing (and I don't think she uses Photoshop, which is beyond me) and a very spiritual person.

It is a superb image and you should still tag if for the songtitle!
