@grammyn Thanks for your interest. I'm embarrassed to say I had to google the men and I still have not identified one of them. I think the one with the glasses is the Rev. T.J. Jemison, a Baton Rouge civil rights leader. I wish the artist had labeled people, especially so kids could learn more of their heritage. The saddest thing is that when I looked up local civil rights leaders to find early pictures, the first hits were news stories of murders on the streets named for the men. As a non-native, it's been difficult to learn the local Black history.
I assumed the one in the middle was MLK, the lady on the bus Rosa Parks? The man on the bus I thought was just random but maybe not. I was not sure about the lady with the turban, and had no idea who the man with glasses was.
