Blustery Peak by exposure4u

Blustery Peak

I took this shot yesterday when the wind was blowing like crazy! You can see the wind blowing the snow on top! It was actually a clear sunny morning, but changed to B&W to create the definition I was looking for in my favorite mountain...Pikes Peak! This is the view from the east with the Garden of the Gods in the foreground. This is the only 14ner in Colorado that is not part of the Continental Divide. It stands alone surrounded by smaller mountains around it, which creates a very majestic feeling! This mountain is 14,110 ft.

Best viewed with magnifier!
Awesome, Wendy! I'd even agree in this case that B&W accentuates what you were trying to capture!

It's great that you combined Pike's Peak with the rock formations below. The B&W is a good choice since it "hides" all the brown vegetation we have now. Good job. if you are interested, I have a few Colorado pictures in an alternate album, http://365project.org/dune1953/other
