My father-in-law is a talented carver of bird decoys. He has done many for friends and family. He gave us this one of the loon.
My get pushed partner, Junko Yokota @jyokota,, challenged me to post pictures of homemade, so of course I had to include his splendid work.
What a natural way to show off the decoy with the simulation of water! The decoy is so well made, and your capture of it shows off its beauty nicely. Challenge, well met, I'd say!
As for me, in the three days since I got my challenge, I have been only at home home home -- oh, and into the backyard. Only my husband and I live here, so I haven't even seen two people together to photograph them! But there's still tomorrow . . . will venture out to meet my challenge!
This is another great piece of work. I once carved a decoy pigeon but only got as far as painting it sky blue. I am one of those people who starts things but never seems to finish them unfortunately.
