We are getting to the time of year when wildflowers will fill the fields and clog the noses of those who have allergies.
They are certainly pretty.
My get pushed partner, Jacqui Jay, @irisr noticed that I am a 'recording' type photographer, reacting to my surroundings. (so true) So, she challenged me to be pro-active and to bring some cut flowers into my home, set up a table near a window with the light falling sideways onto the flowers. Build a still life with a few more objects that are sympathetic to the flowers and take a photograph by natural light with as wide open an aperture as I can manage.
I wasn't happy with the results of this one so decided to edit it, and this is what I got.
@irisr
Jacqui Jay, this is a bit different. I won't put it into the get-pushed challenge because I do not think it really applies, but thought I would tag you anyway.
@irisr I had the flowers against a red background so was able to take the red out to get this monochrome effect.
I like the freedom of this project - there is no right or wrong, and experimentation is always a learning process.
I don't know what your edit was, but I like this. I just love the combination of a studied still-life, which has all those formal overtones with a a bunch of wildflowers.
