The Dance by farmreporter

The Dance

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd have had to miss the dance.

Liz Hammond @lizhammond challenged me to take a line from my favourite poem or book and shoot a picture to represent it. This can be a literal representation or show the emotion the lines invoke. Since music is my poetry, I adapted the challenge to song.

I am reminded that we are to live our lives to the fullest each and every precious day we have on this earth every time I hear this beautiful song by Garth Brooks.

The link - and I highly encourage you to take the time to click on this one (it is done in studio) is here:

@lizhammond Here is my second shot of your challenge (and actually my first choice) but it wasn't until I was uploading the river that I realized how I should do this shot.
First time I did selective B&W by the way!

Hi Wendy, wow you have done so well with this challenge. A flip to song is fine. Very good use of selective colour too, really well done. Nice song too.

Beautiful shot, and so glad this was done as part of a challenge. My first reaction was of concern. So very effective. And yes, worth the listen.

What a beautiful poignant picture that fits the words so beautifully. I have never heard of Garth Brooks, it was interesting to hear him sing the words.
