I was challenged by Liana Bull @kiwinanna to do a still life of 5 unrelated found objects - well - not sure what 'found' means (but I did dig the lantern out from its' home in the crack in the apple tree where it has been hiding all winter, went to the outdoor fire pit to grab the axe, and retrieved the two decoys from a very lonely guest room)
So, I think most of the objects could be considered found. As for being related - the lantern, axe, wicker basket do not relate to the three bird objects which are related.
Thank you, Liana, for the great challenge and for taking the rotten weather that we are having at the moment into consideration when you issued this challenge!
Here is my response to your challenge, Liana! @kiwinanna Thank you for taking the rotten weather that we are having at the moment into consideration when you issued this challenge!
Oh well done you! This is great as is your story of collecting the items. Very cool. (I have done your challenge which I will upload asap. It been a busy few days)
Great response to your challenge!
I've been wracking my brains Wendy for your challenge this week - how does multiple exposure/double exposure sound, either in camera or post processing? My D3200 has in camera Image Overlay, so I suspect yours (which is much newer) will have something along those lines. Is this something that might appeal to you? If not, please get back to me and I'll come up with something else. Felicity
@cjphoto
These are decoys of Canadian loons. Loons are so emblematic of Canada. They have a beautiful call unlike any other bird in the world. It is haunting and it is the sound of the North.
@farmreporter - Very interesting!! I remember listening to them online...it must be very strange to hear their call but I'm guessing you may be used to it.
Very appealing still life... I could have used a Hurricane lamp when we were blacked out last Friday... but cooking a fishermans pie by the light of one candle was fun! Fortunately we had the wood burner and even a supply of dry wood!
