Farwell Canyon Homestead by farmreporter

Farwell Canyon Homestead

The pioneers who chose this site as a homestead were wise indeed. It is in a valley along the Chilcotin River with plenty of water, surrounded by high hills for protection from the elements.
They had it set up so perfectly with a root cellar dug into the hill, smokehouse, barn, and various other outbuildings ... just like a mini town!
Beautiful!
Terrific piece of history captured here Wendy. Easy fav for me :)

Someone was a good planner. How nice it must have been to live there during those times.

A rough life in a rugged countryside. Lots of texture, not only in the wooden house but the mountainside beyond.
