The Barn Door Lock

Or rather - how we keep the barn door closed. Tie the twine to a nail on the other side!
For the Eye of The Beholder challenge which is all about finding something extraordinary in the ordinary. The object is to find a subject that if people were watching you taking the shot; they would be wondering what on earth has possessed you to photograph something which seems so ordinarily, plain, bland, boring or ugly. This challenge is about using light and the rules of composition to make a pleasing photo with little post processing to do it.
