She Shoots, but the Goalie Saves!

You have to hand it to sports photographers - they are a talented bunch! It's takes great skill to get good shots.
I gave it a try at my daughter's soccer game this past weekend and did not come up with any real good shots. It is certainly harder than it looks!
I am kicking myself with this photo of my daughter (#9) taking a shot on the net surrounded by opponents in pink. I was not quick enough to back off on the telephoto lens so missed this great photo. (No - I did not crop this one bit)
Oh well, the only way I will get better is if I try it again!
Well, Margo, @s4sayer Here's another one of real people doing things that people do! I was hoping to do this with a hockey game during the actual challenge but weather did not cooperate. Oh well!

I chose football as a subject in collage. Found it a lot of fun. Being a footballer myself gave me a slight advantage as I was able to anticipate the action. You don't always get it right but it's great fun trying. This is a cool shot, even though the keeper is missing her head 😊😊

I think it is like shooting waves for the splash. I learned to put it on rapid repeat and just hold the shutter down. I get several shots and usually one of the height of the splash.

Does your Nikon shoot countless numbers of shots per second and does it have the latest in tracking AF while continuously shooting? If so all you have to do is point the camera at your subject, following her all the time keeping your finger on the shutter button! No? Well you did very well then!
