South Foreland Lighthouse by fbailey

South Foreland Lighthouse

A Victorian lighthouse situated on the White Cliffs at St Margaret's Bay, Dover used to warn ships approaching the nearby Goodwin Sands. My intention was to climb to the top and take a picture across the Channel but it is now shut for the winter. My knees were very pleased with that piece of news!
Beautiful contrasts.

I love the b&w it really makes the lighthouse stand out - another one on my list of places to visit, I didn't realise there were any lighthouses you could go in around the coast of Kent 😊

Great shot of this beautiful lighthouse.
Did you know all lighthouses are build different. The sign is a code but the shape has to be recognize without any doubt.

That's a very unusual shape for a lighthouse, very interesting. Love it in b&w, conserve your knees and energy for next summer.
