Your rainbow March monthly view is looking fabulous. Well, here we go again. Get pushed partners this week. How about working with symmetry this week? I look forward to seeing what challenge you come up with for me.
@gardenfolk Oh goodness, I certainly didn't expect that! Thanks for letting me know:) It's called a Physallis, and the fruit is enclosed in a little case (rather like a Chinese lantern) which splits open. The fruits are about the size of a very small tomato and are very sweet to taste.
@fbailey Hey! I looked this up in a "Field Guide to Produce." It said it is also called a ground cherry, dwarf cape gooseberry, husk tomato, strawberry tomato or physalis and its part of the tomatillo family. I learn something new all the time on 365. Gosh, do you think it has enough names? :)
@fbailey@gardenfolk It’s beautiful for orange and congrats on being a TT. I had no idea what kind of fruit it was until CC Folk told us. It definitely looks like a tomatillo which I am familiar with, but ours are very green. We use the green ones to make chili verde.
