Sun Dog or Parhelion by fbailey

Sun Dog or Parhelion

A mock sun (rhs) observed looking towards Folkestone this evening.

"As the crystals sink through the air they become vertically aligned, refracting the sunlight horizontally so that sundogs are observed ... bright spots in the sky caused by the refraction of sunlight off tiny ice crystals in the atmosphere"
How cool, never heard of one to be honest, always learning on here! Lovely capture of it.
