Tiny shoe by fbailey

Tiny shoe

Another artwork by Tracey Emin for the Folkestone Triennial 2014 - tiny baby's shoe cast in bronze, painted to look lifelife and then secured firmly to the concrete walkway at Sunny Sands beach. This collection of artwork is entitled 'Baby Things' and various tiny bronzes are randomly dotted around the town:)

This does not appear the trip hazard it might possibly seem - the tiny shoe is tucked underneath the railings to the steps and I had to look so hard to find this little piece, let alone fall over it! Funnily enough, a lot of people don't even seem to know they are there.
I wonder how many people try to pick it up? Interesting art work.

Great little piece of art. I like how you include the area they are in to show context. Great shot.

Very effective and somewhat mysterious.

Another amazing piece! It actually looks so real I guess people just pass it by. Is there some kind of a trail to walk around and find the pieces? So far removed from some of her other works.

After reading what this is my first thought was 'that's a trip hazard', but it's also a kind of sad picture with a lonely lost shoe 🙂

Lovely shot, I would never have thought it was cast in bronze.
