Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the garden...
I was shocked to find so many wasps buzzing about around the windfall pears today. Felt brave enough to hover close to this one, amazed at how thoroughly they were decimating the fruit. The little ladybird was keeping still, but they seemed to leave her alone. There were about 8 wasps on this pear alone....ughgh!
It's been a milder than usual fall but still this is late for the wasps. I have an apple and pear trees and my dogs bring the fallen fruit in the house every day. I hope they don't bring any of those in!
