Gosh I tell you - any time your mojo is low just go and light a fire... I should do this every week. The neanderthal is strong in me, clearly (this may be no surprise to anyone who knows me) but it's wonderful to do and to shoot. Did this tonight because of the January challenge so thanks Bulldog and all who suggested it.
Got down low but realised later that the best part of the fire was the bit at the top. This is sooc apart from cropping and I loved doing it.
And I also love you, dear 365ers, for sticking with my drivel and little offerings for so many weeks - you keep me going when the ashes of the weekend have all gone cold. Have a good week ahead, particularly all my fellow school-employees...!
(My apologies to anyone (including me) who may have nightmares tonight if reading the title brings back scary memories!)
Bonfires and flames are always good motifs. This is a great shot. We have our annual X.mas tree burning on January12.th so I hope to get some nice ones then.
What a lovely shot. I wish I could light fires here but not allowed. The only problem with renting a townhouse. You can't do things like set things on fire. I love the look of the flames and the heat and the feel of it myself. (Yes, I am a pyromaniac at heart). A great shot. Well done, Phil! And the title doesn't scare me. The line you put about something not right with the owls makes me think of the film The Fourth Kind.
we are in the middle of a heat wave (and total fire ban), won't be lighting any fires anytime soon, I wonder what the mojo equivalent is in a heat wave?

The flames are magical! Hope your first day back to school goes well. I'm writing this from my school computer. I got here at 7:20am to prep but I'm ready now so I'm going to do this instead!!
I also like a proper camp fire (I'm an old Scout leader ). This looks wonderfully and I wish I had taken time to light one tonight.
