A normal kind of day ... I am lying on the kitchen floor with my dslr and mega-lens balanced on a pile of dvds to bring it to the level of the cat-flap, where it is pointing out at the bread I have scattered in a rough line on the grass. The wind is whistling through the cat-flap and there isn't a bird in sight.. my trigger-finger is freezing. I turn around and the cat is sitting, looking at me in disbelief......! Just a normal kind of day.
Of course the usual flock of crows, starlings, etc shunned me today but I was able to snap a couple of solitary brave birds and turn it into a diptych. 48 hours ago I had never heard of a diptych and if anyone had said it to me I would probably have told them to put money in the swear box....!
The holidays are so much nicer with your sweet messages coming into my inbox, thank you so much for calling by and making me think that perhaps all this madness is worthwhile on some level..!! :)
So typical, we cleverly line up a tempting treat and we are shunned!! Just love your story and at least two ventured into sight!! Obviously enjoying your Easter holiday!!!
Haha! A woman after my own heart! All in the quest of 'that' photo! Nice cats eye view you achieved for your efforts, and good for the weekly theme.....
Hey Phil, I just entered this week's theme and used theme-diptych but on going to take a look there were only you, me and one other entry. The tag is actually theme-diptychs so you may want to edit your tag xx
Great shots.......I nearly took a shot through the cat flap for the word for today..but decided against it...and now I'm curled up with the giggles at what you had to endure to get this!
Great diptych. I almost use a black bird just like this with my mockingbird, but all my shots of him were facing the other way. Tell me, is this black bird a starling. We have a lot of them, but I've never known what they were.
Lovely pov and so nice to see a thrush. I'm sure there were lots of them when I was young but I rarely see any now. Enjoyed reading your description!! :)
Reading your edit is always entertainly funny but a learning experience! I never heard the word diptych either. Too bad George didn't get a photo of you on the floor at the cat flap! Ha!
I am Very Proud of You Phil ... And even more Happy for You ... I love it ... All the effort and Very Good Idea paid off ... A Fav for Me ... Luv the Story ... Bravo ... Have a Great weekend ... Peace to You My Friend ...
i can relate!!
where did you get your diptych from?
i got mine from paint the moon i think.
