* Forgive my self-indulgence... this is about my favourite photo of my project and I couldn't bear for it to be buried back in March.. so shifted the date and popped it ahead to where I could see it on the monthly calendar more easily. He may leapfrog ahead again...!*
I can't tell you how excited I was at this.. a while ago Jason Daniels said 'every project needs a frog'... we don't get many 'round here so when he appeared, this little guy hadn't got a chance of a normal afternoon.
The cats found him and rounded him to where Cathy and I were enjoying the unseasonal sunshine. When I realised what they were playing with I ran into the house, grabbed my camera, ran back for the orange (first fruit to hand) and took a couple of shots then a deep breath and very very very carefully lifted him on. Leapt higher than him seconds later when he decided he had had enough of our hospitality and kept the cats away while he jumped back to the water. I got one chance, and this was it.
Doesn't come close to the Famous Frogmato pictures I've seen but I can't help but smile!
@filsie65 Hehe, clearly your moral compass is more functional than mine. Having a year 9 tutor group with 20 boys in it means that now I am constantly subjected to a world of things I neither knew about nor wanted to know details of :-S
That's a great shot Phil. I don't often see frogs here either (I guess it's just a matter of knowing where to look) but today I came across a bunch of them.
@corymbia No way?! After 21 views and 4 favs ?! Puts a new question mark over how the pop page is put together... I guess frogs must be popular with monkeys...?! Go figure...
Hey - your cobwebs are there so is Peter's bug... and Amorel's lovely flower... and Peter's Duck! For sure those Monkeys have good taste! :) Thanks for letting me know - it's an honour however it's worked out! x
I saw this on the thread about proudest moments. I missed this somehow. I think. I did not comment up there. I love the "frog on fruit" series....I did one some time this summer...not sure exactly when now. Mine was "toad on a canteloupe."
I can see why you want to keep your frog leaping. We have frogs in our garden pond and at times they leap against the patio door. I can only assume they can see their own reflections

@peterdegraaff Off to the t-shirt shop now! :)
Oh and for your students, when a frog gets all cuddly like this, it is called amplexus.
