The Spine by fishers

The Spine

The Spine runs almost the whole length of Lancaster's campus, and is the main walkway to get to nearly everywhere. You can see particularly well here that the roof swaps from one side to the other. There's a wonderful story that it used to be totally covered over, but that it was such a wind trap that it blew a student away! I would say it seems far-fetched, but the wind in Lancaster is always impressively strong! This part of the spine is where most of my classes have been over the past four years, so it's important to have a pic to remember it by! - Lucy

Great info on your shot as always Lucy. I like the shadow the roof casts on the pavement below. You will be sad to leave here but new adventures and challenges are waiting for you :-)

Nice shot of this wind-tunnel. I can imagine how busy it gets during classes.

@bobhuegel Thank you Bob. It certainly is a hub of activity! They should probably make it illegal to stop walking whilst on the spine at busy times! - Lucy
