This ice-cream van was parked outside the museum gardens and brought back memories of Sunday afternoons, when dad would buy my brothers and me, ice-cream in a cup from a van that looked like this. We each had a special cup we would take and then have the difficult choice of which topping to have; raspberry or chocolate sauce; multi-coloured or chocolate sprinkles; sometimes we would be allowed two, by the ice-cream man, not dad.
This van is usually parked outside the Castle Museum and was here loading up supplies.
@bkbinthecity Thanks. I remember when they all looked like that, before the days of whipped ice-cream and the need for a different shaped van to hold the machines. katharine
It sure looks vintage. we have one (not a vintage one) drive by in the summer evenings and you can hear it playing music from far away. sometimes there is a line up of people. I think I posted it once.
