Just opposite the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London, is this statue of a young ballerina by Enzo Plazzotta. There is some debate that it could be Dame Ninette de Valois, who was a very accomplished dancer and who helped to establish The Royal Ballet. However, no one seems willing to say definitively that it is!
Whichever way, I'd never noticed this before but it's a nice sculpture to have in the home of English ballet. - Lucy
this is such a beautiful capture. both of my granddaughters practice ballet; attending their recitals each spring is one of my greatest pleasures. nice shot, great narrative.
lovely statue and beautifully photographed. For me personally, I would prefer not to have the red phone booths there, but that's purely a personal opinion.
@angelat I completely agree with you Angela, but unfortunately there was a family sat on the edge of the statue eating their lunch, so my picture from the other side was even worse! I did hang around for a bit, but they weren't moving so I thought I'd move on to somewhere else. I do agree that red is rather distracting! - Lucy
