Chateau de VIncennes by fishers

Chateau de VIncennes

This Medieval castle began life as a hunting lodge, then became an important defence mechanism in the 12th century. Today, it is one of the oldest medieval castles surviving in France. In the 19th century it was used as a prison, hosting such famous people as Diderot and Raspail.

It was a very interesting visit, off the tourist trail but worth the metro journey! - Lucy
