I pass this pub every day on my way to my new job, as it's right next to Brixton railway station. It opened as the Railway Hotel in 1880, but sadly it is now derilict after redevelopment plans for Brixton came to nothing in the late 1990s. It was built around a high level railway bridge, with one of the arches making up the third floor! Three separate lines pass by it, which is why the clock tower is 6-sided - that way everyone could see the time. Jimmy Hendrix is rumoured to have jammed here back in its heyday, and there is quite a lot of public support to re-open it, but so far nothing has happened. - Lucy
