The Odeon Cinema, Leicester Square by fishers

The Odeon Cinema, Leicester Square

Leicester Square in London has several different cinemas, but this is certainly the most iconic. It shows many European and world premieres.

It is the largest single-screen cinema in the UK, and is unusual in that the layout retains tiered seating with stalls and a dress circle. It opened in 1937 and was famous for its art-deco auditorium, but in the late 60s they ruined it with an attempt at modernisation. However, since the 80s a restoration project has been under way. - Lucy

Cool capture of this "old" cinema theater. Always a place for these older buildings.

Ah, Lucy, you always find my soft-spot - I have very fond memories of this cinema and it doesn't seem to have changed much at all in the intervening years.
