Rawcliffe Lake is an artificial creation built when new housing and industry were planned for the disused airfield at Clifton / Rawcliffe in York. It was designed to help with controlling the level of the water table to reduce the risk of flooding where the new houses and industry were to be created.
The lake has become a wildlife haven, and the area around the lake is a pleasant place to walk. Conditions yesterday were quite still, with nice afternoon sunshine, so it was a good time to take reflection shots.
This is the tree lined east shore, and you can see from the hint of yellow and orange colours in the trees and bushes that autumn has begun.
Thank you Graham - it was an ideal day for reflection shots.
