Stained Glass by fishers

Stained Glass

Doncaster Minster was built in the mid 19th century following the destruction of it's predecessor in a fire. It has some lovely stained glass, and this shot shows part of the Dean Vaughan memorial window in the nave of the church.

The complete window shows some of the great church teachers of the past. It was created by the well known Victorian stained glass makers Clayton and Bell, and installed here in 1864.

I love the effect of light on the colours of stained glass. Although this was taken on a quite dull day, the glass still has a richness and beauty.
