At the beginning of February I posted a shot of a carved stone of Adam and Eve, which had once been part of a series of stones around the west door of York Minster, but which is now displayed in the Minster Undercroft ( http://365project.org/fishers/365/2015-02-04 ).
The arch of carved stones around the west door were replaced in the 1990's with new carvings, since many of the originals were badly eroded. I've never really looked closely at these new carvings, so I thought it time that I did, and today's collage shows four of them.
I do like it that these are new designs and not just reproductions of the originals. It's nice to think that the stonemasons of today have added something new to the design of the Minster.
Great to see you back. I clicked back to the picture in question as the link you attached didn't open it. these new designed carvings tells the story well. fav..
Sorry Bruni, the link is now fixed.
