OK, so I've kept you waiting a few days after showing the crowds at York railway station as Flying Scotsman arrived - well here is the locomotive herself, looking rather splendid after her overhaul, and her new coat of paint.
I wasn't totally happy with any of the shots I took - it's not easy taking shots while in the midst of a huge crowd - so I've included the best of a poor bunch in this collage.
There will be many more opportunities to get more shots during the summer, since numerous specials are due to be pulled by the Flying Scotsman, and many either start, finish or pass through York on the various journeys.
I think you've got some superb shots. Did you see mine steaming through the tiny village of Offord in Cambridgeshire? It wasn't great either but I only got one chance!
Thank you all for your comments and favourites, it's good to hear from you all! Flying Scotsman continues to attract attention. It is currently in the north yard of the railway museum, where there have been exclusive (and expensive!) photography sessions. Today a team are busy cleaning it before it goes into the museum for a few days, before starting a series of special trains and visits to preserved railways.
Pyrrhula & Dianne, we've had a very long gap in posting, but I felt drawn back to 365 project, although it's unlikely that there will be daily posts at the moment.
Judith - I did see your shot of Flying Scotsman - it's never easy to get a shot of a steam locomotive in action, but you did OK with your shot.
