This view is a memory from childhood. My grandma and grandad lived in one of the houses in the distance, and we used to walk down to the stream hidden by the hedgerow in the centre of this shot, armed with fishing nets. I don't think we ever caught anything.
The path itself led up to a farm (behind me in this shot) and the climb seemed endless. We could then turn left and make a circular walk.
The path has migrated a little - the stile between the fields is to the left of the current route of the path and goes through a fence which has long since disappeared.
The power lines in the distance feed a sub station, where high voltage long distance power transmission is converted to lower power for use locally.
It must be over 40 years since I last walked this path, and the memories came flooding back......
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
It was really nice to revisit my past. I've been staying with my mum for 2-3 days every few weeks after she has been to hospital for a check on her macular degeneration, and to ensure she has an afternoon nap the day after her hospital visit, I go out for a couple of hours. (If I stay in with her she doesn't get the rest she needs). There are several other places near where she lives that I haven't visited for many years, so hopefully I'll be able to visit some of them in the near future.
