King and Queen by fishers

King and Queen

At last to the main reason we went to Sheffield last weekend - Katharine's niece was getting married. The ceremony was a little unusual for this country, being a Ukrainian Catholic service.

Here we see the couple wearing crowns as part of the service. The crowns recognise them of king and queen of their home. Although this isn't a particularly sharp shot, I did like the look that the bride gave her new husband as he raised his hand to steady the crown on his head.

Thank you all for your comments, they are very much appreciated!

I can understand the groom wanting to hold the crown - it does feel rather precarious when placed on the head, as I well remember from our wedding many years ago.
