Sheffield has been holding it's second Bricktropolis event during the school summer holiday, with Lego models on show in a variety of city centre locations. This year there is a space theme, celebrating the first moon landing, although the models covered the whole period of space travel, and also included a few Science Fiction themed models.
This model is a life size recreation of Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space, and a Russian cosmonaut. He was chosen from 200 Russian airforce pilot applicants and he spent 108 minutes in space on 12th April 1961. That was his only flight into space, but it made him world famous.
Thank you all for your comments and fav, they are very much appreciated.
It's amazing how versatile Lego bricks are for modeling, and how realistic the models can look. It must be quite an accolade for a person to be immortalised in Lego bricks!
