York Minster is a never ending source of photographic inspiration. After a visit to Katharine in hospital at the weekend, I decided to have an after dark walk around the city centre before going home.
This shot is taken from Precentor's Court, looking east south east to the west front of the Minster. Precentor's Court is a quiet little street - a nice escape from the hustle and bustle around the Minster and on Petergate. The Facebook page 'York's Street Names & Origins' says the following about Precentor's Court: "Although marked on maps of the city from 1610, it is not named until 1722 as Precentor's Lane; its present name first occurs in 1822. (RCHM Vol 5). The word PRECENTOR is a person who helps facilitate worship."
Katharine remains in hospital, and had fluid drained from around her lungs again this afternoon. From comments made by her consultant, it looks like she will be staying in hospital into next week.
So sorry to hear about Katherine, at least she is in good hands and being taken care of. How are you doing? This must be very stressful for you
