Another shot at Rawcliffe Lake on my walk home from the pharmacy.
The lake is an artificial creation, excavated in the 1980's. The area around is known as Clifton Moor and was a disused airfield. It was redeveloped with a large industrial estate, a shopping centre, and over 1000 new houses. To help with drainage of the area a new lake was excavated, with the spoil excavated being used to create part of the flood defences along the River Ouse.
Around the lake is a mixture of open spaces, shrubs and trees, with an area on the north side designed to be isolated to encourage wildlife. This shot shows part of the shore on the north side, fringed with reeds.
Thanks.

Thank you all for your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.
Rawcliffe Lake is a place that is still evolving. It has been fascinating to see how it has changed since it was first created.

Thank you Alyssa, I have to try new ideas while we are in lockdown.
