More from the archive, and the centenary of the end of the First World War displays in various places. These shots were taken in Beverley Minster, East Yorkshire. Unfortunately they were only in the process of setting up the display when I visited, so I didn't see it in all it's glory.
The soldier outline on the right appeared in a lot of places around Britain. sometimes with a black outline like this and sometimes a simple perspex sheet. I first saw examples at St Pancras railway station in London. They were a moving reminder of the centenary. Some can still be seen - for example just inside the entrance to York railway station.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
It's impressive to see the inventiveness shown in the remembrance displays in recent years. This year light projections have been very popular - for example with a huge red poppy projected onto one of the cooling towers at Drax power station.
There are many inventive people around, and a lot of them supported the end of the First World War centenary. It was wonderful to see these super displays!
