York has had a number of special events this year (as it does evry year) to attract tourists to the city. One of the events is the current 'Summer of Sport', with six artistic features scattered in or near the city centre.
This podium can be found in Parliament Street, and there are often children playing on it. This was especially true after the Olympic Games started.
However, on this visit into the city centre the podium was being used in a much more common passtime - for people to sit and have a rest before continuing their shopping or museum visiting.

I hadn't noticed the legs above the seated woman, but they belong to someone at a temporary trampoline park. Trampoliners are attached to elasticated ropes and can achieve quite high jumps with the elasticated ropes providing them with a degree of safety.
The woman may be no 1, with the man number 2 at a lower level, but he is the one with the ice cream!
