Not a new photo to welcome the new year, but a shot from the Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival in August 2010. We are all leaping into the unknown of a new year, with our hopes, dreams, expectations and fears. I hope that for each of us 2022 will mark something of a change back to a more normal life, and that Covid-19 will have less of an influence on how we conduct our lives.
As usual I have a long list of things that I would like to do this year. An easy list to create, since there are so many things from 2021 and 2020 that remain to be done. It will be interesting to see what I can do this year!

I appreciate your comments. So much uncertainty, hope and suspense at the beginning of each new year. Here's hoping 2022 will be the year that moves us out of covid fears into a better, healthier world. Happy New Year!

There are already indications that the Omicron Covid-19 outbreak in London is in decline in many areas, which has to be very encouraging. The outbreak reached Yorkshire about a week after it reached London, so hopefully in a week or so case numbers should begin to decline here as well. It is amazing how addictive the government website Covid-19 data release at 4pm each day has become!
