Well, this is part of Coney Street in the heart of York looking quite different to anything I have seen here before. This Chinese dragon and it's twin on the opposite side of the road, along with other Chinese themed decorations in the area have been put up to mark the Chinese New Year. (Tuesday 1st February).
Although there is a long established Chinese community in York, it is quite small in numbers. However, in recent years, before Covid-19, York University was a popular place for Chinese students to come to study.
Indeed the first confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the UK were in a Chinese family. One was a student who had completed their studies at York University, and that person along with their parents were in York for the graduation ceremony. Two of the family were infected.
A clear sign of the times in this shot is the 'Shop to Let' sign (bottom left). Coney Street was once a premier shopping street with many everyday shops popular with local residents, but sadly a lot have closed as more people shop at out of town centres or online. At one point recently there were 17 empty shops in this one street.
Interesting, I have never seen the likes and lived in York for 5 years and visit several times a year.
My mum came from New Earswick and I have lots of family still in and around York.

Thank you all for your lovely comments and fav, they are very much appreciated.
I don't know if the dragon will have survived the gale force winds of Saturday morning.
