Part of a lovely display of tulips bought for Katharine by one of our neighbours after she had heard about the war in Ukraine, and came round for a chat.
I do like the variety of colours of tulip colours available now. The purple in particular reminds me of the huge numbers of that colour in Parc Mon Repos, Geneva when I visited our younger daughter there ten years ago. That was the first time I had seen a mass of purple tulips, and I found it a great challenge getting a photo that accurately captured the colour.
We haven't heard anything direct from Katharine's relatives in Ukraine, though since they live in the west of the country they are well away from where the major battles are taking place.
These are beautiful and what a lovely gesture. I didn't realise that Katharine was from Ukraine. How devastating and worrying for her. I do hope and pray that all her relatives stay safe
Beautiful tulips. There has been an invitation for peace talks in Ukraine l understand. Pity i didn't come before the Russians tried to show their might.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
We have had no further news of relatives in Ukraine, but we do feel that they should be relatively safe since they are in the west of the country, away from where most of the fighting is.

Katharine was born in England. Her dad was from the Ukraine, arriving here after the second world war and later marrying an English wife.

While I agree with you, I suspect that some become corrupt (or more corrupt) after they become leaders.

It will be interesting to see what happens at the talks, but I am not too confident that they willl achieve much.
