Katharine and I went for a short late afternoon walk a few days ago, around parts of the grounds of the former Clifton Hospital site.
We discovered that the access onto the Ings flood bank has not yet been closed off to allow work to increase it's height. A short walk north along the flood bank brought us to a substantial fence, beyond which we could see that work had started on that section, so that was our first photo opportunity.
Walking back south we enjoyed watching attempts being made to fly this kite. By the time we got closer it was quite high, and I thought it's green colouring stood out beautifully against the vivid blue sky, a good second photo opportunity, so here is the rather magnificent kite in flight.
What a lovely sight to see. We used to fly kites as children but I never see them anymore near me.
A beautiful shot of the colourful kite against that perfect blue sky.
Thank you Pat. It certainly seems to have become a much less common sight in recent years. It looked like the kite fliers might be from the small neighbouring caravan park.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
It was interesting to watch an adult and child flying this kite - it is one of those activities that can be enjoyably shared by different generations.

Thank you Paul - but I did cheat a little, this was cropped from a larger image!
