This chap, with his traditional rods and brushes, was in the grounds of the Merchant Adventurers Hall.
The hall is a timber framed building constructed by a fraternity made up of York citizens to provide a base for charity, worship and business in the centre of the city of the city on the banks of the River Foss. It was built between 1357 and 1368, thought there have been many changes since then.
The presence of a chimney sweep is quite appropriate, since one of the modern functions of the hall is as a wedding venue, and the presence of a chimney sweep at a wedding is said to bring good luck.
Looks very nice . Great use of the materials . Fav.
( I nearly alway`s take my pic.`s on Sunday. I do enough for a whole week, ( And the waether chance rapidly, even on one day. )
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
I think the Ghosts in the Gardens are great fun, though some of them are proving difficult to find this year. We will have to work much harder to find them all!
