Learning to fly - 30 Days Wild - Day 4

I love watching the joy of these crows (or rooks) as they take to the skies for their first journeys.
They're jackdaws :) I love watching them too!

How splendid. I love to watch the bird action at this time of year too - but have never noticed the first flights of these birds. I like the chimneys here too.

They do look like the crows we have in Oz. I love the chimneys against the sky.

Yes they're jackdaws. We have lots here and they are always on our roof making a great deal of noise which carries right down the chimney making it sound as if they are in the sitting room with us!

Hello Ann. It is easy to miss when someone is not posting - especially when busy and haphazard in commenting. Hope all is well with you?

How did they get up there if they haven't flown before? Maybe flying up is easier than flying down!

@helenhall Hello Helen. Thank you for your post and concern. I'm fine - been a bit under the weather and haven't felt like picking up my camera. Feeling a lot better so will be back properly in a week or so.

I've enjoyed your blue architecture series and you've really made the contentious bridge look very attractive. Looking forward to seeing more of your wonderful photos.

@maggiemae There have been some in the chimney of my brother's house (not the house shown) and we've watched them take their first flights. A bit scary to start with as they seem to drop down but then I guess instinct takes over and they're off to explore other chimneys and houses.
