Sophie is glad this is not her dog tag. My husband ran in a half marathon and received this medal to salute those who gave their lives for our freedom. It was held at the Naval Weapons Station that was established in 1942 in Concord, California. This year the Army was honored as they will continue to honor a different branch of service each year. Little 5 pound Sophie Belle is the model, same as last year, featuring the Navy. See below:
