Memorial Day
Is a time to remember
To honor and show our respect
For all men and women
Who gave up their lives
For the country they fought to protect.
Although we cannot
Picture all of their faces
Nor recognize each person's name
We give thanks today
For those brave U.S. soldiers
When called by our country, they came.
My husband ran in the Inaugural Armed Forces Half Marathon in Concord, CA. This year the Navy was honored. He would like to participate until all the other branches...Marine, Air Force, Army and Coast Guard have been recognized. Sweet Sophie is wearing his medal.
Dennis is a wonderful Patriot and good for both him and the Memorial Day Cause! Sophie gets to show off the participants medal...was she in attendance? I'm sure you were!
@Weezilou Actually, neither of us were. Dennis got up at 3am, left the house early, drove with 3 other guys to Concord, ran the race, and drove home again...arriving exhausted and in need of a shower! I thought Sophie looked cute with the medal so big and she is so small. :)

@gardenfolk Finlay is so dirty and scruffy from all the rain we had I am going to give him a bath today- if I can catch him! Lol! Let's see if he is willing to pose for me!
