Katniss is the happiest when outdoors. She loves to sit high up on the stairs of the backyard balcony to watch and listen. She loves to climb the fence and the trees. She likes to roll in the dirt and grass. She enjoys her freedom to pretend to hunt bugs, birds and squirrels and play tag with Sophie. To balance this freedom with my worry for her safety, I do make her come inside if I leave the house for any reason and before it gets dark. Luckily, she seems to stay in our yard or the neighbor's yard so she has the freedom to live her cat instincts outside and still be pampered by sleeping on our bed at night. I do wish she would wear a pretty collar but so far it is a no way, no how, no go. But, she is microchipped.
I have a cat who was inddor/outdoor for all his life, but has to be indoors now since he was making a neighbor crazy...so sad to have to keep him in completely. All our other cats are inside only, but Hiro really and truly wants to be out sometimes. I'm glad Katniss can have a little freedom!
Hello Katniss you little beauty! I love that she can go out and enjoy herself even though it’s a worry for you. I think they need a bit of freedom so they enjoy being home with you even more!
