Fire by gaylewood

Fire

Today I burned dead branches that we have trimmed from our trees. We have accumulated quite a pile of dead branches. The county allows these controlled burns on days when the weather is appropriate. I am always mesmerized by flames in a fire.
A very spectacular photo Gayle! And I have always been mesmerized by flames too. Fav

It must be the suppressed pyromaniacs in us, as I love a good fire too. Love the flames. I did our back-yard pile burn on Monday. Fav

@365projectorgjenfurj Thanks so much for your comment and fav, Jen! Your comment made me laugh because family members and friends have actually called me a pyromaniac . . . they were joking of course . . . I think. :-)

I always see things in the fire. This time, I see a crazy chicken and a masquerade mask.

Lovely capture Gayle, I love looking at fire, but am always very nervous when burning branches in our garden. So nervous that I avoid it!

Great shot. I can feel the movement in the flames. I hope you had some marshmellows to roast.

@dyanstevens Thanks so much for commenting, Dyan! I think it's interesting the different things people see in a fire image. I see something different every time I look at this image. :-)

@jamibann Thank you for commenting, Issi! I am always extremely cautious when burning. I kept the fire small yesterday because there was a bit of a breeze and I don't like to take chances with sparks blowing. I was very happy that it started drizzling right after I stopped burning and rained throughout the night. :-)

@merrelyn Thanks so much for your comment, Merrelyn! Oh, yes! I love a campfire! We have them a lot during the summer in Canada. The summer evenings are usually quite chilly there. :-)

@gaylewood Yes, I worry about the sparks in the wind too, and would have been very happy to see some rain coming to drench any remaining cinders!
