A Moment's Rest by glimpses

A Moment's Rest

This little guy really was still for only a moment. I zoomed waaaay in, took a single shot, and then he was on his way........
I love this Leslie! Is it a type of dragonfly? I very much enjoy perusing your shots as macros are my absolute favorite to photograph and you have quite a few.

@irishmo Ahhhh, good morning to you, Maureen. Thank you for stopping by with your genrerous comment, and interest. Frankly, I'm nor sure WHAT this little flier is. I'm pretty sure that it's a Dragonfly and not a Damselfly becuase it was huge. i'm pleased to hear that you have enjoyed some of my macros; they are my "siganature" photograph. I never tire of the challenges they present. Happy weekend, Maureen, Les

Just a wonderful perspective Les.

Leslie, wonderful shot. They never stay still for long and are so hard to capture. I love your macros.
Have a nice day Leslie, and thank you for your always kind words.

Leslie thank you for the information on the Bengal tigers. I didn't know that their skin was also striped. I love facts like this.

@mwarren365 Oh Mike, You are such a hoot! How could it be trained? If it were, it wouldn't have given me a "butt shot!" heh, heh.
Nope, Not on my finger; he was on a piece of iron garden trellis (painted black), and was actually pretty far away. And, as always, thank you for your generous comment. happy weekend, Les

@maggie2 Always look forward to hearing from you Maggie; thanks ever so much. You know, I think that this might be my first Dragonfly shot; I don't remember ever taking any others (probably because they're just "fly-bys!") Happy weekend to you and yours, Les

@mjmaven Thanks very much; I think this is my first Dragonfly with my digital. And just so you know, this isn't really a macro shot - I actaually spotted him and zoomed all the way in. I thought that if I approaced him, he would get spooked, and fly off. As far as a macro lens, (my camera has it "built in") I can only tell you that it will be worth the wait!! There's a whole itty-bitty world out there. Hope you're having a nice weekend., Les

@alecio Helo Alecio, and thanks so much. I kinda got lucky with this one, I only had time for 2 shots before he took off. The blue sky - another stroke of luck. Hope that you are having a goood week, Les
